What is ZUMBA®?

Zumba® - A dance-based cardio fitness workout combining fast and slow latin and international rhythms such as cumbia, salsa, reggaeton and tango. This workout is suitable for adults and although there is a mixture of low and high impact routines, you will be invited to exercise at your own level. No previous experience is necessary to take part and you can expect around 16 different songs in an hour-long class. This class can be combined with gym equipment as is then known as Zumba® in the Circuit.

Zumba® Toning is a fantastic way to burn even more calories during your workout. It is an ideal class for anyone who wants to tone their body and also for Zumba® regulars who want to challenge themselves further.

Toning sticks are also available to order. Contact Gemma for more details.

aqua
Aqua Zumba® - A dance-based water workout using the Zumba® formula. Due to the resistance that the water provides, this class might be particularly suited to participants with joint problems who find high-impact exercise on land problematic.

sentao
Zumba® Sentao™ - An exhilarating and intense workout incorporting the use of chairs, but still with the famous Zumba® flavour.

gold
Zumba® Gold - A lower impact version of Zumba®, which can be chair-based or include slower rhythms, depending on the instructor's qualifications. This class incorporates the same rhythms as other Zumba® classes but might be more suitable to older adults, participants with joint problems, those with learning difficulties, newcomers to exercise or those who need to remain seated during exercise.

Zumba® Gold-Toning - A Zumba® Toning class using light hand-weights but aimed at those who usually benefit from the Zumba® Gold sessions.

These classes are aimed at children around the ages of 4-7 (Little Starz) and 8-12 (Big Starz). Classes consist of a breakdown of steps for the routines, as well as games and dance-based activities.
